The Big Fire...

I have no idea who this crazy woman is, nor the context. I bought a crappy digital camera at the Salvation Army the other day for $4.50. It still had photos on the memory card! Are these the "found photos" of the future...? Or, maybe today, really? Instead of digging through boxes, we'll be scouring flea markets for hard drvies, flash cards and cameras? So, this is vernacular photography...from the digital age. As is typical these last few months, I’ve let my entries slip a bit. We’ve been busy with events, and building new booths. We’ve also been refurbishing some old chemical machines that just came in. They’re scummy, but I’ll shine them up! With respect to my last visits with Benson., it was left to repeat scans 4 months and continue the shots. I spoke with Dr. Warner, for whom I rescheduled with for July 28th. He suggested more stains on my biopsy slides followed by an X-ray serried of the small bowel. This X-Ray can take up to 2 hours, and of course, there’s no eat

From the collection: square landscape Polaroid with torn corners. So many little trees like little fingers on a hill. Out there something sprouts, despite the snow, despite the view.

Working Hard....at looking good!!!

Just heard our Museum of Mourning Photography (MoMP) is noted in this book? News to me, so just ordered it from Amazon. Looks cool...

Shot #4

Image
Almost forgot to post my 4th shot! Course with Benson is to repeat scan in September to monitor growth as well as the spleen, which is slightly enlarged. I'll be following up to get Woltering's suggestions as well. More to follow. Waiting on some more labs.

PS: nothing found

Almost forgot to note.... All clear, no primary tumor found today.... So, at this point, it may never be discovered? Note the light diffuser above my bed!

Almost out...

Just finished the procedure... All stupid from the drugs... Almost out of here!! Still starving... Weighed myself this morning and I'm at 159#. I haven't weighed that much since freshman year of college... I suspect these exam preps have something to do with it?? So, going to chow down when I'm released!

New Photobooth Revealed!!

Image
Above: Our new Digital-Retro photobooth design put into service this week! After a grueling week with minimal sleep, including multiple 18 hour work days, we pulled it off! We were slammed with events this weekend. And just in time, I finished our new booth pictured above....with only a few minor items needed to be completed on the electrical inside. -nothing major. Yes, we built that in our shop. And I personally tore up my muscles to make it happen. This booth is by far the best one we have buil to date. It's much cleaner with better construction and materials. It's not all over yet, but we can now breathe for a few days. Anyhow, you can read all about it on the 312photobooth Blog (Which has also suffered from attention, due to my work load). Health: My MRI report from last week was botched... the details are too much to go into right now. It should be completed by Wednesday for my appointment with Benson. I have my exam tomorrow and I'm starving!! Haven't eaten in

In Middle America men are awakening

Art Sinsabaugh: Chicago Landscape #23, 1964 (printed 1966) One of my favorite photographers is Art Sinsabaugh... and, one of my all time favorite writers is Sherwood Anderson. In 1964 Jargon Press (Jonathan Williams) put together a killer book pairing 15 pieces from Anderson's Mid-American Chants with Sinsabaugh's photos. I have the book, a limited edition of 1550 copies, which is a PRIZE in my collection. I think I once told Andrea that this book made me fall in love with the Mid-West. It's more than a piece in a collection, but an inspiring artifact. When I need a minute to escape, I take it out and flip through the long panoramic pages. I also have a great first edition of Mid-American Chants with a nice corn colored cover, and of course, a few orginal Sinsabaugh photos. Those too hold a special spot in my life... In the Forward to Mid-American Chants, Anderson writes: "I do not believe that we people of mid-western America, immersed as we are in affairs, hurried a

MRI Image: 06-01-2009 Carcinoid / NET Tumor

MRI Study from June 1st, 2009 : One of MANY images! Click to enlarge the image. I don't have the results yet from the MRI comparison study (monitoring tumor growth). I do however have the disk of images! In some spots the tumor looks larger, and in others, the same. Since I'm not a tranied Radiologist, I'll leave it to them to figure out. In some of the other images you can see the smaller tumors, which vary in size. Some look a little bigger than 1CM, while others are smaller. The large tumor can be noted in the upper left of the liver. It's about the size of a lime with a dark center. They refered to this earlier as a "central scar". When I have the results, I'll be sure to post them. Until then, enjoy the view of my guts.

Just completed my MRI today
