Argentina...

Tall Man: Circus photo from my personal collection. This has nothing to do with Argentina... except that I hope to acquire similar finds on my trip.... and, I like it!

Andrea and I just booked our tickets to Argentina! We're going to start in Buenos Aires....and poke around from there! We're going April 17 - 28th. Buenos Aires is supposed to have spectacular flea markets?? We'll see! So, we're out of here! Yes, it's going to be hectic leaving the business behind for so long, but screw it! You have to enjoy the world for a bit, otherwise, what's the point of all the hard work?

Other than that, it has been a BUSY day. Booked 3 jobs, received deposit for 2 more, and roped in another 2 to book next week!! Also, sent a ton of emails and made some decent progress on one of the digital booths under construction. Despite all the progress, still behind schedule. And taxes, yeah, gonna miss the March 15th filing date for the business.... and, not sure what I owe. So, Uncle Sam is going to hit me with a little fine?

Been off the sauce for a bit now. I'm saving my drinking for the better bottles and times!!! You bet I'll have some wine over a decent steak on our trip. Other than that, putting the booze aside. It's hard not to have that evening glass, but enjoy a good juice instead! And, I'm getting hooked on Coconut water!

In general, feeling fine... a bit busy and anxious at times, but making things happen.

And Jay, thanks for the book! I'm looking forward to sitting down for a good read.

    Some of the best wine in the world comes from Argentina so you better imbibe! Dr. Heather was in Argentina last year and spoke highly of Salta. I was in Mendoza and up into the Andes. Sounds like a great trip. Rob

Tickets to Germany: Bad Berka

A blurred landscape photos for no good reason... We have our tickets for Germany. -Flying into Frankfurt arriving the morning of February 6th. On the 7th, we take the train to Bad Berka. Scan on the 8th. If the scan looks ok, we will proceed with surgery in Omaha with Dr. Botha. But before heading back to the US, we'll take the train to Berlin, and fly out from there on the 13th. If the scan is not so great, i.e., too many tumors in the liver to operate of extensive disease, we will see if I can stay for PRRT treatment. I'm not sure if this is an option at this time with respect to scheduling in the hospital, etc.... I still need to work out some logistics... that is, how does my surgeon in Nebraska review the imaging from the scan? When will a report be completed? That's all for now...

...a long winded story not written all that well.

But sometime late in 2007, my pain slowly started to get worse. Well, I thought it must be an ulcer or something? At times, I’d have these attacks that would last for days, stabbing. ...oh, really? shit....headed home

FDG-PET: Note the large tumor lesion with an SUV +/- 60. FDG-PET: Note cross hairs on the "potential" primary tumor in the pancreas. I am out of the hospital in Germany and the good news is that I will not have to return for 12 months… the bad news is that I need to have surgery soon. It turns out that the large potentially 90% benign lesion IS NOT BENIGN after all… This wouldn’t be so bad except that now, it appears as though I don’t have a pure NET, but some type of rare unidentified hybrid (both in the liver and primary). This was revealed by the FDG-PET scan. These suspect tumors have massive FDG uptake. (-a scan that is available in the US an none of my doctors thought to order…???) This “mixed-tumor” didn’t happen overnight, it has been like this from day one, but we only now have the information to deal with it. My disease is no worse than when I walked into the hospital, but the information we have changes the plan, and potentially the prognosis, greatly. Luckily, th
