Update...

So, I've been away from the blog..... Andrea has been away too. It has been 3 weeks since the surgery and things are up and down. Day by day, I am healing and feeling better. Nevertheless, I still spend most of my time doing very little. I've been decreasing my pain meds and the cloud is finally lifting a bit. I've had a few minor setbacks. I've been going back and forth to my PCP for labs and follow-up. My WBC has been high and the Hemoglobin dropping. Lately, the WBC has been going back down which is good, and the Hemoglobin is slowly increasing. The worry is that the hemoglobin could get too low and I might then need a blood transfusion. So, monitoring for now.

Parts of my wound were a little nasty, so the doc has been treating it. A culture of some of the ooze showed a possibility of infection (staph...). All in, it's minor and the wound doesn't look too bad. I'm taking antibiotics as a precaution. I've also been having some trouble breathing... Xray and tests reveal that I have a minor case of pneumonia. I get out of breath quickly on the phone, stairs, doing too much activity, etc... But as noted, nothing major. It's not the kind you get in a jungle or something. It's from having pain and not breathing as much, or something like that. Strange though, I've been walking, doing breathing exercises.... So who knows? More antibiotics to fix this problem too. So, that's the scoope. Doing fine but need to be resting more, since apparently, I have not been resting enough. I'll post more when I'm feeling up to it.

In other news, Andrea wrenched her back and she too is on couch duty. We're a sad sack...

Note the wonderful photo Andrea took of me and Freida sleeping.... Now that's love!
